First PSP to start with iDIN online identification
Online Payment Platform located in Delft will be added to the pilot as they will use iDIN in their implementation process of new customers. Additionally, the service will be offered as DISP (digital identity service provider).
iDIN is the new online identification method of banks. iDIN can be used to identify yourself on the internet with the safe and reliable sign in method of your bank. The banks see iDIN as replacement of DigID, but for businesses. The last months, there have been pilots with organizations such as the Belastingdienst (the Dutch tax authority), Florius mortgages and health insurer ONVZ.
“Within our existing functionalities, we could already provide the platforms that integrate us with verified users, but with iDIN we could enlarge trustworthiness and identification of sellers (potentially buyers) on these platforms even more. Trustworthy sellers (both commercial as individual) are highly important for trading platforms. Besides that, iDIN offers platforms the ability to let their users log in safe or an extra authentication if preferred; it is more than logical that we are the first PSP to add iDIN as innovative solution to our portfolio.” Maurice Jongmans, CEO of Online Payment Platform stated.
In the past week, the payment association announced the first pilots as positively received and iDIN will be rolled out further in the following months.
Online Payment Platform is a fast growing Dutch Payment Service Provider. The innovative solutions are primarily used for processing online payments of large (trading) platforms and marketplaces. Customers are for example PayPal, Marktplaats and Maastricht University.
