Online Payment Platform opens new office in Germany
Dutch payment service provider responds to growing platform economy with European expansion
Delft, 25 June 2020 - Online Payment Platform, a specialised payment service provider for platforms and marketplaces, has opened an office in Germany. Earlier this quarter they already opened a new office in Antwerp. With the international expansion, Online Payment Platform can better respond to opportunities in these markets and offer support to local users of the platforms and marketplaces it facilitates.
“The expansion into Germany was a logical step for us”, Maurice Jongmans, CEO of Online Payment Platform stated. "The platform economy there is developing rapidly. A well-organised payment process certainly is very important for platforms and marketplaces. As a specialized platform-psp, we want to provide our experience and expertise to support these (new) parties. In addition, we have a large number Dutch clients who operate in Germany too and for whom we handle transactions. By having a local presence, we can better serve both the platforms and their end users."
The new German office of the Dutch platform-PSP is located in the centre of Berlin. From this office, employees will initially take care of the implementation and support for local customers. For the time being, the Sales, Development and Finance departments will continue to operate from the Dutch office.
Further international expansion
According to Jongmans, the international expansion of Online Payment Platform will continue this year.
Online Payment Platform facilitates payments for more than 150 platforms across Europe. Clients include ANWB, Natuurhuisje, PostNL and the eBay Classifieds Group which includes Marktplaats. The office in Delft has approximately thirty employees. For the office in Germany, local people are employed.
