Pay with iDEAL on the free market

Today, a new temporary payment app is launched: the Vrijmarkt app (Literally: Free market). This app enables consumers to receive payments quickly and safely with iDEAL. After a simple registration, you can create payments as a seller by showing an iDEAL QR-code to your ‘customers’, they can then scan it with the standard iDEAL app to pay.
The Vrijmarkt app has been created by Online Payment Platform, the first payment institution with a credential for consumer-to-consumer iDEAL payments.

“We would like to reveal the areas of opportunities for consumer-to-consumer payments. On King's Day, the streets are filled with items found in garages and attics. You simply wanted to buy that cool shuffleboard, but unfortunately you don't have any cash on you. Will you just move on? Are you going to line up in that long queue to withdraw cash?"

The seller now has an extra opportunity: the Vrijmarkt app. With this app, the seller can quickly be paid by iDEAL. The buyer scans an iDEAL QR-code with the iDEAL app and easily pays directly through his own bank. Enabling you to take the shuffleboard with you without cash, spare change or long queues!  
The Vrijmarkt app combines two new iDEAL services: with iDEAL C2C, consumer-to-consumer payments are made possible and with iDEAL QR, you could easily pay on site thanks to the iDEAL app (later this year also with your mobile bank app).

The Vrijmarkt app can be used until May 7th. On the next working day, the received payments will be transferred to the bank account of the seller. Costs for the seller are € 0,20 on top of each payment. The Vrijmarkt app is available for free download on Android and IOS. Buyers must download the standard iDEAL-app to be able to scan the iDEAL QR codes.
