Trading on Marktplaats.nl easier and more secure

Online Payment platform has started an extensive collaboration with Marktplaats to enable consumer-to-consumer iDEAL payments within the trading platform. As of this week, this service will be widely offered to the users of Marktplaats.

Consumers are already used to making payments to companies by using iDEAL. From now on, they are enabled to pay each other for Marktplaats purchases with the iDEAL service of OPP. The first users are very excited. They especially appreciate the fact that cash becomes unnecessary as they receive an immediate payment confirmation, allowing them to ship the product straightaway. The coming period, we will continue introducing small and large technological developments that will make trading on Marktplaats even more easy, secure and fun.”

Verification of users

Users that want to receive money within Marktplaats will be verified on bank information and personal details by Online Payment Platform. Afterwards, the iDEAL payments will be processed by Online Payment Platform. Maurice Jongmans, CEO of OPP: “With our license as C2C provider of iDEAL, Marktplaats users can arrange the payment quickly and easily among themselves. The verifications that we perform [on name, bank account and mobile number] together with an additional identity verification for for higher transaction amounts [passport or IDIN-checks], provide better insight and security about the person you are trading with. This verified status of a user will soon be featured on Marktplaats.”

Due to the collaboration with OPP, users are now enabled to use a familiar and secure payment method. On MijnMarktplaats, interested users can register for the iDEAL payments.
